"Perfect again"
"Just returned from my fifth visit to the christiania in three years. Three times with my wife and friends and twice with my son. Each trip has been a fantastic holiday. Before the first trip I wasn't sure what to expect. Having returned four times and recommended it to friends as well says what I now think of the Christiania. Derek and his team run an amazing place, friendly, welcoming, next to the piste, fantastic food. I am not sure what else I would ask for.
The position alone warrents a visit and when add evrything else I doubt that I will be going elsewhere to ski for a long time. The evening meals are definitely not what you would expect from a two star hotel, interesting, delicious and beatifully presented with a choice of three starters, three main courses, two puddings and local cheese with a carefully chosen wine list with a few gems that Derek will might suggest. The staff each visit have been friendly, hard working and attentive and have helped make a wonderful holiday particularly when away with a six year old!
I would recommend the Hotel Chistiania to anyone looking for a comfortable, friendly hotel in Les Gets with fantastic food in the best location in town.
I also happen to have had great snow and weather each time although I am not sure if the hotel arranged this or not?"

"Perfect hotel for all ages"
"Just had a great week with friends and our teenage children at Christiania, which seems to get better and better. What really makes the hotel is Derek and the staff who are so charming, knowledgeable and helpful - making sure we had the best table for lunch every day where we wanted on one of the busiest weeks of the season was no easy task. The food at the hotel was the best ever this year and if you are looking for a hotel that is warm, friendly and unpretentious where you ski in and out and where you can relax and feel at home from the moment you arrive, then you will love it here.
Our teenage children love it too - the bars and nightlife are just a minute or two walk away, so you always know where they are. The rooms are simple but adequate and really what do you need when you are with friends and family and the slopes and long delicious lunches and dinners beckon. For the price, service and position, I certainly have never found anything better and wish we were all still there."

"Really worth a visit"
"Top spot. 2 star on the label, but better than that. 5 star location, food and service. Ski in ski out, literally, you can put your skis on at the ski room and be on the slopes.
Food is fantastic, service excellent from all the staff especially Roxy, Zoe and Naomi as front of house, Danny the barnan and Derek the manager is just so helpful.
OK, so the rooms are a bit tired, but in my view the other bits override that.
Seen some of the other posts, most spot on, some overly critical. How many 2 star hotels have a hot tubs with slope views and you can take your drink with you. As Arnie used to say, I will be back."

"ideal so we keep coming back"
"This must be our fifth time in this little hotel. We appreciate the location, not far from Geneva with transfer available. It is right on the slopes in this very french village. It offers us good child care every time, it is handy for the ski school and ski hire and it's relaxed approach suits our family. We enjoy the food, wines, warm atmosphere, and cosy rooms ( room 18 is ideal for couple with one child who likes to watch the piste machines). Yes there are some aspects that could be improved , but we like it and recommend it to all our skiing pals, who have taken up the invitation to join us on several occasions and agree, it is ideal."

"Another great Holiday"
"Thank you to all the staff at Christiania, another excellent holiday. Food was excellent, service was faultless and all the staff charming. I love the informal atmosphere, that makes the hotel very intimate and friendly without being obtrusive..... I would always recommend this hotel especially to anyone wanting a short break. Les Gets is a lovely village."

"Highly recommended, for all ages. Run like a proper family hotel! The food is that good, there is no need to eat out, and the public and people in other chalets come to the hotel to eat...it is that good.
Management are very approachable. The hotel is great value for money and is so handy and easy for getting to the slopes."

"Great Service and location"
"We stayed for five nights and have to say that the staff were excellent from the moment we arrived. Always on hand and always very helpful.
The location of the hotel was perfect, we could ski right back to the ski room, via the hot tub.
We were a group of three and this hotel is excellent for grops and families alike.
Will be revisiting."

"Best food in the Village"
"What a fantastic place to stay. Its right at the bottom of the piste so after a day's skiing you will be enjoying your afternoon tea and cakes within minutes. Staff are very helpful and pleasant and nothing seems to be too much trouble. It is a very friendly place to stay. The small bar and lounge are very cozy with the log fire and comfy sofas. The icing on the cake is the 5* evening meal. Hard to find food like this in the big cities back home let alone a small hotel in a ski resort."

"Pre season ski trip"
Another ski season - another visit to Hotel Christiana - the rooms maybe 2 stars, but that's where it stops - best location in the village over looking main slopes with ski in ski out - after a series of heavy snow falls in early December the snow conditions were excellent for a pre-season visit and the hotel had put in place a superb chef supported by excellent staff - the food was quite simply as good as gets in the Port Du Soleil area with fine wine to match - good food, fine wine, ski in /out, and perfect snow at an affordable price - what's not to like - this is as good as it gets without breaking the bank.
I return with the family in January and look forward to more of the same.

"Wonderful holiday"
Back from a wonderful holiday in Les Gets. John King runs a superb hotel. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Food was amazing and wine not too bad either. I found a smaller hotel very pleasant as you get to meet other people in the bar etc. I am not a skier but found plenty to do in the village, a very pretty place ,especially with the Christmas lights and decorations. Hope I have the opportunity to visit again at some point.

"Happy ski group"
We all had a good time at the Hotel Christiania. The food was excellent, location excellent, all the staff were more than friendly & efficient. The hotel gave us a relaxed atmosohere without being pompous.
We've been skiing in Les Gets for over 15 years, this was our 1st time as a group staying in a hotel, usually opting for self catering apartments etc. I think I speak for everyone when I say that it has changed our opionions on this matter! So good in fact that we are all prepared to re-book for the same week next year.

We have stayed in a number of hotels including many in ski resorts and this has to be one of the better ones. It is not the swankiest hotel in town but if you are looking for a hotel that is well placed with excellent staff, then you wont find one much better. The rooms on the ground floor are probably last choice because you will get some noise coming the kitchens and being next to the ski lock up - but not too bad. The rooms have seen better years, the rooms were very clean and the bedding was recent and with fresh clean linen,the bathroom was older but very clean. We have stayed in a hotels that have the badge saying they provide good food - this one may not have the badege but the food was fantastic - some of the best food I have had in any restaurant.

"Looking forward to our next trip"
The snow was good, the sky was blue and we all had a fantastic time.
All of the staff were friendly and helpful and good fun!!
In fact one of our party liked it so much he decided to stay!!! (we are all jealous)
We are already looking for our next short break for later this season!!!

"Picture postcard Hotel people have to know about"
It's relaxed informality means that within hours you feel part of the soft, cosy furnishings.
However, the relaxed ethos belies the orginisation and professionalis that is evident in the quality of the food and the staff's consideration for the guests.
It's the perfect ski hotel, located at the end of a run, and in a village so picturesqe it could feature in a fairy story.

"Great atmospheric small hotel right next to the slopes with excellent food"
The hotel itself has a super dining and lounge area, overlooking the village with Mont Chery behind, one of the two ski areas directly accessible from the village. The other area is on the doorstep of the Christiania, literally. The friendly staff are predominately British, with a few Aussies. The dinner menu was creative and the food excellent. Room was small but comfortable with a new bathroom. Good ski boot room with hot air boot drying racks. The hotel has a large wine list with some terrific wines.

"Friendly staff, great food and a fantastic location in Les Gets”
The Hotel is in a great location as you just click on your ski's in the morning and your off.
The food was out of this world with the only problem being that some nights I wanted to eat both starters and mains! Our room was functional with enough storage space, The shower was powerful and always warm and despite what has been said in the other posts our room was cleaned every day.I certainly plan to return next ski season.

"Excellent location, excellent food"
Can't beat the location as it's right next to the piste. The staff were young but very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and we really enjoyed all meals. There's a cosy lounge area with an open fire to relax in after dinner with cheese and coffee. 2 hot tubs outside were a great way to relax after a day skiing. Delicious home made cakes and tea and coffee were provided every day to welcome you back from the slopes!

"Excellent hotel, superb location, great food and superb staff!”
We had such a lovely time here, we went at the last minute and found the hotel to be excellent. We were met at the airport and very swiftly taken to the hotel (55 mins transfer) despite lots of snow on the roads. The hotel is lovely, with a great restaurant, bar, superb staff and a fab location. The skiing here is excellent and this hotel is right next to the piste, you can fall out of bed and onto the slopes! It also had a separate room in the evenings for children to watch TV/DVD's (or for people to get away from the bar and read in). It also has internet connection (free - I think it was anyway). Great hotel, couldn't recommend enough.
