If your flight is delayed at the weekend due to the snowfall in the UK please call the hotel direct on +33 450 75 82 44 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org as there will not be anyone in the UK booking office at the weekend. The staff at the hotel will then be able to assist you with your transfer to the hotel.
As our staff arrive at the Hotel for the winter season there has been a large fall of snow.
As the images below show its started to snow in Les Gets. This should give a good base for the season.
It’s still possible to have a powder day in March as this picture which was taken by the assistant manager at the Hotel Christiania in Les Gets shows.
The UK based staff at the Hotel Christiania UK booking office did not need to check the webcams to know that it had been snowing in Les Gets on Sunday afternoon and Monday morning as the phones were ringing all day yesterday. We guess that a lot of people use the Webcam page on our website and after yesterday fall of snow a lot of the rooms for Easter are now already booked. If your thinking of a family ski trip at Easter book now before it’s too late.
After a week of warm temperatures the weekend guests at the Hotel Christiania in Les Gets were treated to a fresh fall of snow on Sunday afternoon. There has been 26cm of fresh snow and things are looking great all over the Portes du Soleil again. The effect of this snow can be measured in the UK booking office where the phone has been busy all morning with people booking up for their late March and early April ski trips.
if you have not been to Les Gets this winter this video by the manager of the Hotel Christiania shows the level of snow on the roofs in Ardent.Filmed from the Driver’s seat – it demonstrates the massive depth of snow. Some chalets are dwarfed by the snow at the side of the road!
With the continued cold conditions in Les Gets (it’s currently -15 again this morning) we keep having to knock the icicles off the roof as the guests sometime leave the windows open in their rooms at the Hotel Christiania when they are having a shower. The staff keep knocking the snow and ice off the roof as you would certainly not want to be under that snow when it falls off the roof.Conditions in Les Gets and the Portes du Soleil remain excellent with 85cm on the lower slopes and 220cm at the top of the mountain outside the hotel.
